Recently my cravings for Korean food came back and so i hopped on to YouTube and found this channel with hundreds of authentic Korean recipe made by a super bubbly chef - Maangchi.

This recipe is inspired by her and you can find the original recipe here.
I've made a few tweaks to the recipe to veganize it and so today, I'll be showing you how to make this hassle free one pot meal - Vegan Korean Army Stew.

What?!?! Another one pot meal?! Yes, that's how i roll. HAHAHA

Written printable recipe:

If you do not have a hot pot cooker, you can make this in a large pot on the stove.
Leave me a comment and let me know if you have any other dishes that you would like me to make.

I really hope you make this stew because it's tooo delicious to be true.

Smile,
J .

Episode 4 - Peanuts & Mushrooms Congee | 花生香菇粥

Helloooo ~

How have you been?! Gone for two weeks to prepare for my exams and the exams are finally over and so I'm back! :))

Here's the good news about this recipe :
1. It's VEGAN
2. It's another ONE POT recipe
3. It's QUICK and EASY

You know how much patience it takes to make smooth velvety porridge because the rice takes FOREVER to break down. I've been trying to find ways to shorten the process and a few years back i came across this trick while watching some cooking show on TV. Ever since then,I've been using this method whenever i cook porridge.

Find out the trick on how i make this porridge in less than 30 minutes :

As usual, the English and Chinese recipes can be downloaded here:

Just in case you're curious, this is the mushroom seasoning that i use in my recipe:

You can purchase it from vegetarian food suppliers or vegetarian food stores.
The ones that were sold in NTUC are made in Malaysia (more bland) and those above are from Taiwan.
Mushroom seasoning is often used in Asian vegetarian cooking as it's way better than MSG and it has lower sodium content than salt. Most importantly, it does magic to the food that you're making. (just kidding, but it's true - it really does make your food taste better. Sometimes i even use them when i make western dishes =X)

That's all for today, I hope you have a great week ahead!

Smiles,
J

Episode 2 - Vegetarian Chicken Pot Pie | 素雞肉鍋餅

Hey Hey!

Hope you had a blast during Chinese new year like i did. Who doesn't love CNY where all you need to do is eat, drink , dress prettily and collect Ang Baos ( Not so joyous for married couples i guess :/ )

So anyway, I'm back with another recipe and today I'm going to show you how to make vegetarian chicken pot pie. This recipe is actually pretty easy to make. You literally just need to throw everything into a pot and *TADAHH* your fillings are done. Now, put on the pastry sheet and bake it in the oven and there you have it, a delicious meal in less than an hour.

Download the printable recipe:

Just in case you're wondering, I purchased the vegetarian chicken from friendly vegetarian but it is also available at most vegetarian products retail stores.
